ASUU STRIKE: WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING WE COULD - FG
The Federal Government claims it has done everything possible to end the strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
This was stated by Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, on Tuesday, September 6, during a meeting with Pro-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of Federal Universities at the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja.
Under the guise of resolving current issues, the government should not sow the seeds of future disruptions. We did the best we could given the circumstances. We interacted with the Unions following inter-ministerial consultations and rounds of hard bargaining with all government agencies.
Personally, I did everything possible to solve the current problems. "I met the Unions wherever and whenever I could with facts, figures, and absolute sincerity," he said.
It is worth noting that ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022.
