TRAVELING TO NORTHERN CYPRUS IS NOT ADVISED - FG ADVISES NIGERIANS

Nigerians have been advised by the Federal Government not to visit Northern Cyprus.

On August 25, during a news conference in Abuja, the Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, issued the warning.

She claims that it is essential for Nigerians to avoid Northern Cyprus due to the country's treatment of them in violation of their human rights.

She issued a warning that the nation, which is only recognized by Turkiye, lacks effective processes that would allow the Federal Government to seek retribution for many Nigerian students killed in the de facto state.

"Think twice before going to Northern Cyprus. We can't do much for Nigerians there. Our students are being killed daily. Some people will tell you that their destinies are abroad but if you want to go, go legally," she said.
