Jeffery Simmons Traded to Bears for Two First-Round Picks
The Titans' rebuild is officially underway and the Bears are loading up for a Super Bowl run Tennessee has dealt star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to Chicago just months after handing him a $105.8M extension.
Bears land All-Pro Simmons in blockbuster trade with Titans...
The Tennessee Titans have traded All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears in a blockbuster move.
As part of the deal, Tennessee will send Simmons along with a 2028 fifth-round pick to Chicago in return for two first-rounders in 2027 and 2028, plus a fourth-round pick in 2027.
Now 29, Simmons was originally selected 19th overall by Tennessee in the 2019 NFL Draft. The former Mississippi State standout has since developed into one of the NFL's most dominant interior defenders a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time Second-Team All-Pro who earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2025 after posting 11 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and 3 forced fumbles.
He's remained productive in 2026, recording 4 sacks, 6 tackles for loss and 9 quarterback hits through seven games. Over eight seasons and 104 starts, Simmons has amassed 46.5 sacks, 72 tackles for loss, 96 QB hits, 209 solo tackles and 9 forced fumbles.
Simmons agreed to a three-year, $105.8 million extension with $100 million guaranteed back in June and remains under contract through the 2030 season.
At 1-6, the Titans have emerged as obvious sellers ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline, with running back Tony Pollard, cornerback Alontae Taylor and defensive end Jermaine Johnson III also reportedly on the block in Nashville.
The 5-2 Bears made the move for Simmons just days after defensive end Montez Sweat his former Mississippi State teammate returned from a two-game ban for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Chicago's defense has been solid this season, entering the week ranked 8th in sacks with 19, 7th against the run allowing just 613 yards, and 4th in pressure rate at 28.0%.
Simmons is expected to take over for veteran Grady Jarrett in the starting lineup. The 33-year-old Jarrett has been quiet through seven starts, posting no sacks with just four solo tackles and four quarterback hits.
