Brentford made it four games without defeat in the Premier League, drawing 2-2 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium thanks to two goals from Kevin Schade.

Both sides came flying out of the blocks and wasted early chances. Keane Lewis-Potter curled just wide, before Antonio Silva glanced Marcus Tavernier’s free-kick off target.

With both sides having scored first in all their games so far, the opener was always going to matter. Brentford broke the deadlock when Schade, a scorer of three here last season, guided Yarmolyuk’s cross home and Petrovic was beaten.

Bournemouth responded well and nearly equalised straight away. Kluivert forced a save from Caoimhin Kelleher and the rebound fell to Evanilson, but the Brazilian blazed over.

Bournemouth didn’t take long to hit back. Kluivert found himself in the box again and this time made no mistake, drilling a finish into the bottom corner to level

It was a timely boost for the Cherries, and also meant they dropped points after leading at the break for the first time this campaign.

Bournemouth kept pushing and almost went ahead. Kelleher tipped a Kluivert strike over, then Silva again met a Tavernier set-piece but headed wide from a good spot.

Alex Scott fired over after combining with Evanilson, before Bournemouth’s pressure finally told. Evanilson laid it back for Tavernier, who smashed home into the bottom corner.

The Cherries gifted Brentford a way back in. Petrovic’s poor pass went right to Schade, who made no mistake and rolled the ball into the unguarded goal.

The hosts pushed for a winner in the closing stages. Kelleher denied Tavernier once more, before Rayan fired inches wide from 20 yards.

No winner came in the end. It leaves Bournemouth winless in nine Premier League meetings with Brentford, with 4 draws and 5 defeats.

The Bees will be happy enough with a point on the road. It’s now seven league away games without a win for Thomas Frank’s side, with 5 draws and 2 losses.
