Yankees’ Aaron Judge Makes MLB History Push After 15th Homer vs. Rangers

Aaron Judge closes in on MLB history with another 50-HR

The Yankees slugger connected off Nathan Eovaldi in the sixth inning, extending his lead over Murakami and Olson in the 2026 home run race.

If Judge reaches 50 home runs again, he’ll be the first in MLB history to do so in five separate seasons...

Yankees star Aaron Judge hit his 15th home run of the season on Wednesday night, making him the first player in MLB to reach the mark this year during New York’s game against the Texas Rangers.

The 34-year-old connected on a 2-0 pitch from Nathan Eovaldi in the bottom of the sixth, sending a drive to right-center that trimmed the Rangers’ advantage.

Chicago White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami has been trading blows with Judge for the home run lead all season and now sits just one behind with 14, while Atlanta’s Matt Olson holds third on 13.

Judge closed out 2025 with 53 home runs, the fourth-highest total in the league. If he reaches 50 again this year, he’ll be the first since Sammy Sosa from 1998 to 2001 to hit that mark in three consecutive seasons.

He’s already in rare company, joining Sosa, Babe Ruth, and Mark McGwire as the only players in MLB history with four 50-home-run seasons on their record.

A 50-home-run campaign this year would put Judge alone in MLB history as the only player to ever hit 50 or more in five different seasons.

The Yankees sit atop the American League at 25-11 heading into Wednesday, trailing only the Braves’ 26-12 for the best record in all of baseball.
