RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande says being linked with Liverpool is giving him extra motivation as his profile rises across Europe.

The 19-year-old winger broke through in the Bundesliga this season and is now viewed as one of the continent’s brightest young prospects.

Liverpool are reportedly tracking the Ivory Coast international, but Diomande insists the attention is fueling him to raise his game even further.

Diomande moved to RB Leipzig from Leganes last summer for €20 million, roughly £17 million, and says he already feels a strong sense of loyalty to the club.

“You're going to be happy and motivated to do more,” Diomande told reporters.

“I don't really think about this kind of thing because I'm trying to be focused on the pitch and because my job is playing football so (my representatives) going to take care of everything outside of the pitch.

“So these kinds of things give me a lot of motivation to see a lot of clubs speaking about you and stuff like this, but I'm focused.“
