| Conte’s Napoli guarantee Champions League place with Pisa bictory |
Napoli now turn to the final matchday with second place still in sight after beating Pisa at the Stadio Arena Garibaldi.
Antonio Conte’s side controlled the match after an early Pisa push, sealing a top-four finish in Serie A...
Napoli locked in a place in next season’s Champions League after beating Pisa 3-0 away. The loss was Pisa’s eighth straight defeat since returning to Serie A.
With relegation already confirmed, Pisa had little at stake in the game. That left Napoli to take control early as they pushed to secure a top-four finish.
Heading into the match, Pisa had only managed 18 non-penalty goals all season, the lowest of any team in Europe’s top five leagues. That lack of firepower showed in the first half, with Napoli firmly in control.
The visitors took the lead midway through the half after Rasmus Hojlund nodded wide and Alisson Santos was denied by Adrian Semper. Scott McTominay finished off Højlund’s first-time lay-off, slotting it into the bottom corner. Napoli made it 2-0 not long after when Amir Rrahmani met Eljif Elmas’ corner and headed home, even with Semper getting a hand to it. Elmas stayed dangerous right up to the break, forcing the Pisa keeper into a fingertip save.

Pisa’s best moment of the half came with the last kick before half-time. Filip Stojilkovic found space in the box, but Alex Meret closed him down quickly to make a key block.
Pisa offered little threat before half-time, but came out stronger after the break. Stojilkovic forced Meret into a save within five minutes, and Mehdi Leris then headed over from the corner that followed.
That early burst didn’t last, and Napoli quickly regained control without having to test Semper much. McTominay had a chance to put the game away around the hour mark, but headed over the bar.
Hojlund put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time, stretching to meet Pasquale Mazzocchi’s low cross and guiding it home.
The win seals Champions League football for Antonio Conte’s side. Napoli now sit three points clear of AC Milan and Roma with one game left, keeping second place within reach.

For Pisa, it was another tough result. They’ve won just once in their last 26 Serie A matches and will finish the season away at Lazio next weekend.
