The New York Yankees have put All-Star starter Max Fried on the 15-day injured list due to a bone bruise in his left elbow, per multiple reports.
Fried, 32, will get additional tests on his throwing elbow in a few weeks when the Yankees recheck his condition. He’s currently tops in MLB with 61.2 innings pitched - no other pitcher has reached 60.
Fried came out of the gate strong in 2026 with back-to-back shutouts in his first two outings, but things have gone downhill lately.

The veteran has allowed 11 runs over his last three starts and hasn’t made it past the sixth inning in any of them. He was pulled after just three innings on May 13 against the Orioles, giving up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts - a season low - and one walk.
The -hree-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glover sits at a 3.21 ERA with a 4-3 record this year. That comes a season after he led the league with 19 wins.
His 2.63 strikeout-to-walk ratio matches the mark he posted in 2020 when he finished fifth in Cy Young voting. He’s also still limiting homers better than anyone, with a 0.1 HR/9 that leads all of baseball.
