Manchester United manager Michael Carrick spoke highly of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson ahead of Sunday’s game.

United host Forest at Old Trafford for their second-to-last match of the Premier League season.

At 23, Anderson has played a big role for Forest this season, scoring four goals and adding two assists across 36 Premier League appearances.

His strong form has drawn interest from multiple clubs, with Manchester United and Manchester City both linked ahead of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to reporters ahead of their game, Carrick was full of praise for Anderson, saying: “He's done well.

“I think he's a big part of their team. He offers so much and they've got a really talented and dangerous team.

“They've had a good season to get to the (Europa League) semi-finals and just fall short. But you can see obviously he is an important part of their team.”

Carrick and Anderson both began their football careers at Wallsend Boys Club in Tyneside.
