Liverpool and adidas have revealed the club’s 2026/27 home kit, drawing inspiration from the classic adidas design worn during the Reds’ 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

The new kit blends the club’s history with its present, reworking the iconic look from that era for today’s fans and players.

The original 1989/91 kit is considered one of Liverpool’s most iconic adidas designs. It became closely linked with one of the club’s greatest sides, as the Reds claimed a record 18th league title, more than any other English club at the time.

Under Sir Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool finished nine points clear at the top of the First Division. Club legends Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Hansen, and Bruce Grobbelaar were central to defining that era.

For the launch campaign, Liverpool and adidas have created a concept that connects past and present using AI-generated visuals.

Club legends Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Hansen, and Bruce Grobbelaar appear in their 1989 looks, wearing the original adidas kit that inspired the release. They’re shown alongside current players Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Grace Fisk, and Faye Kirby in the new shirt, highlighting the campaign’s message that greatness spans generations.

The new home shirt takes cues from the original adidas design. Its standout feature is the dynamic geometric pattern, blending the club’s heritage with modern performance technology.

The deep red base is enhanced by a modern all-over graphic that mirrors the visual style of the late-80s original, but with a sharper, updated finish.

White detailing on the club crest, adidas logo, and trims keeps the classic look intact. The reimagined print captures the energy and attitude of 1980s football culture.

On the back of the jersey, the ’97 emblem surrounded by eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck. It honors the children, women, and men who were unlawfully killed in the Hillsborough disaster.

Liverpool have also introduced a new name and number style for the back of the shirt. The design matches the club’s updated typeface from last season, which draws inspiration from the wings and talons of the Liver bird.

The 2026/27 home kit is finished with deep red shorts and socks for a bold, unified look.

Adidas has also released a new goalkeeper kit alongside the home shirt. It uses the same iconic design, reworked in a distinct Liverpool green inspired by the late-80s era.

The launch includes the club’s new domestic training range. This covers a pre-match top, short sleeve training top, drill top, long down jacket, hoodie, pants, jacket, and tee. Also released are the new anthem jacket, DNA culture wear collection, stadium range, hats, and accessories.

The new kit is on sale now through Liverpool’s online store, official stores in the UK and internationally, and the LFC Store app. Prices remain unchanged from last season.

Season Ticket Holders and All Red Full, Light, and Junior members will get 10% off.

Liverpool offers worldwide shipping via UPS. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery in the UK and selected countries.
