Atalanta midfielder Ederson says a move to the Premier League would be a “dream” as Manchester United step up their interest.
Replacing Casemiro is shaping up to be one of United’s biggest jobs this summer. The Brazilian looked to be past it last season, but under Michael Carrick he’s reminded everyone of his quality, chipping in with 11 goal involvements in the league.
At 34, Casemiro has been vital both shielding the defense and making an impact in attack, making him hard to replace.
With the club confirming he’ll leave when the season ends, United are weighing up options. Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Sandro Tonali have all been mentioned, while Atalanta’s Ederson is another name United have been tracking in Europe.
Sky reporter Sacha Tavolieri reports that United are “closely monitoring” Ederson’s situation, though the most “concrete interest” so far has come from clubs in Serie A.
The good news for United is that a move to the Premier League is Ederson’s “dream,” and his representatives have already held talks with the club in recent weeks.
The Brazilian has played 40 times in all competitions this season and is under contract until June 2027, which could open the door for United to negotiate a cut-price deal.
