Captain James Rodriguez and Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz lead Colombia’s World Cup squad. Coach Nestor Lorenzo announced the roster on Monday for next month’s tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Colombia are back at the World Cup after missing Qatar 2022. This will be their seventh appearance at the finals. Rodriguez, who won the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, captains an experienced group that includes Crystal Palace teammates Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma.

Lorenzo’s team qualified after a strong campaign in South American qualifying. They will aim to go further than their best World Cup result, which was reaching the quarter-finals in 2014.

Colombia will hold a training camp in Bogota before playing friendlies against Costa Rica on June 1st and Jordan on June 7th. Their Group K campaign begins against Uzbekistan on June 17th.

The group stage will also see them face DR Congo and Portugal.
