Brondby IF have given a lifetime ban to a fan who endangered a disabled spectator during the playoff match against FC Copenhagen. The fan pulled the breathing tube from the respirator of another supporter, an act that could have been fatal.

During Thursday’s derby, three Brondby fans pulled Mille Manstrup’s breathing tube because she had a small sticker on her wheelchair showing support for FC Copenhagen.

On Sunday, Brondby said the person “behind the act” received a lifetime ban. The club added that it is waiting for the police investigation into the other people involved.

The three men have also been reported to the police. Brondby issued the lifetime ban after FCK fan Mille Manstrup began gasping for breath in the family stand at Brondby Stadium on Thursday evening. Manstrup has muscular dystrophy.

Shortly before the incident, three Brondby fans pulled the hose from her respirator. The action could have killed her.

“It is a deeply shocking and undignified case, which is completely incompatible with all norms and rules, whether in a stadium or in society in general. After a thorough review of the case, it is therefore very simple. Such blunt and reckless behavior results in a ban for life from Brondby Stadium,” says Communications Director Soren Hanghoj.
