Arsenal Champions: Gunners Beat Man City to Premier League Title
| Arteta leads Arsenal to Premier League glory |
From 10th in 2019 to champions in 2026, Arteta completes a long rebuild as Arsenal win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years.
Arsenal clinched their first Premier League title in 22 years after Manchester City dropped points against Bournemouth. The Gunners finished the job with a game to spare...
Arsenal are Premier League champions after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth. The result sealed Arsenal’s first top-flight title since 2004 with one game still to play.
The title was confirmed tonight when City dropped points against Bournemouth. That left Pep Guardiola’s side unable to catch Arsenal at the top of the table.
The win ends a 22-year wait for a league title and gives Arsenal their 14th top-flight championship. It also extends their lead as England’s third-most successful league club, behind only Liverpool and Manchester United.
After finishing second in the Premier League for two years straight, Arsenal turned close calls into control this season. From 2022/23 to 2023/24 they kept raising their points total while building more depth and consistency, and that progress paid off this year.
This title run came from balance across the pitch, not just one hot streak. Arsenal were solid at both ends throughout the campaign.
Strong defending, steady attacking output, and dangerous set-pieces made them hard to beat week after week. Under Arteta, the team also avoided the late-season drop in form that cost them in earlier years.

The difference from their first real title challenge under Arteta was clear. In 2022/23 Arsenal led the league for 248 days before Manchester City’s experience and strong finish took the title. Last season they improved again but ended up two points short.
This time Arsenal didn’t fall away when it mattered. They kept up the pace through winter, handled a crowded fixture list, and turned tough away games into points instead of letting them become talking points.
Recruitment was a big factor too. The club moved quickly to build a squad that could compete on all fronts, and signings like Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and Viktor Gyokeres all made key contributions during the season.

For Arteta, the title caps off a long-term project at the club. When he took over in December 2019, Arsenal sat 10th in the Premier League and lacked clear direction. He won the FA Cup in 2020, but the years after that required patience from both the board and the fans.

There were doubts about Arsenal’s signings, stretches of inconsistent form, and repeated claims that the team had hit its limit under Arteta.
Instead, Arteta has led Arsenal to their first Premier League title since Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles in 2003/04. He also guided them to their first Champions League final in 20 years.
That makes him only the sixth manager to win the English top division with Arsenal.
