Arsenal marked their first Premier League title since Wenger's Invincibles with a huge parade. The men's and women's teams joined fans after ending a 22-year wait for the league crown.

“Honestly, it's going to give the players more motivation for next year...”

Hundreds of thousands of Arsenal fans packed the streets of north London on Sunday, chanting and setting off red flares to celebrate the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years.

The squad marked the moment on an open-top bus, passing around the Premier League trophy they’d finally won. It was the first time since Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ lifted it in the 2003-04 season.

Arsenal sealed the title before the final matchday, opening up an uncatchable gap over second-place Manchester City. City finished seven points back as Mikel Arteta’s side ended the wait.

The parade came just days after Arsenal’s Champions League heartbreak in Budapest, where they lost to PSG on penalties. Nothing dampened the mood though - fans filled the air with fireworks and vuvuzelas anyway.

It was the club’s first piece of silverware since Arteta lifted the FA Cup in his first season in charge back in 2020. After three straight second-place Premier League finishes, the title finally felt real for everyone at the club.

“We're not European champions but we are champions of England, which is what matters. So we're happy to celebrate with everyone,” said Julien Guillenenat, a French Arsenal fan.

“I feel that we're going to be fine next season. I feel like a weight has been lifted off the shoulders and this season was like on a knife edge,” Mathieu Garnier, a 44-year-old Arsenal fan said.

“Three years in ‌a row second and finally this pressure is behind us and these boys are going to be flying. I believe that.”

Arsenal’s women’s team were part of the party too after lifting the FIFA Champions Cup this season.

“They're pointing and they're laughing. And what happened? They're not laughing anymore. I love this team. I love ‌this manager,” Rice told Sky Sports.

Rice: 'The jokes have stopped'

Club-record signing Declan Rice, who joined for £105m in 2023, said the men’s team had answered every doubter. Arsenal had a message for everyone who laughed at them before.

“To see the joy we can give people is crazy. Next year, we're coming back for more.”

Theo Grant, a 22-year-old Arsenal supporter, was sure the club would make it back to the Champions League final next season.

“Honestly, it's going to give the players more motivation for next year. It's going to be the best part,” Grant said.

“We're going to be in the final in Madrid next year. I'm going to get my tickets!”
