Victor Wembanyama earned his first All-NBA first team selection on Sunday, but fell one vote short of being a unanimous pick alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic.

The 22-year-old Spurs star, who has helped lead San Antonio to the Western Conference finals against Gilgeous-Alexander’s Oklahoma City, received 99 of 100 first-team votes from the global media panel and one vote for the second team.

Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham rounded out the All-NBA first team. Doncic received 91 first-place votes for his sixth first-team selection, matching Nikola Jokic’s total. Cunningham earned 60 first-team votes in his debut on the first team.

Wembanyama was also named the unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year earlier this year.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Canada claimed his second straight NBA Most Valuable Player award this season. Nikola Jokic finished top two in MVP voting for the sixth year in a row, joining Larry Bird as the only players to do so.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic both received 100 first-place votes and 500 total points. Wembanyama placed third overall with 498 points.

The All-NBA second team featured Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, and Jalen Brunson.

Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren, and Chet Holmgren made up the All-NBA third team.
