West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady has stepped down after 16 years with the club, the relegation-threatened side announced Tuesday, closing a tenure defined by commercial growth but also fan discontent.

Brady joined West Ham’s board in 2010 following the takeover of the Premier League club by joint chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold.

Brady played a key role in West Ham’s 2016 move from Upton Park, the club’s home for more than a century, to the London Stadium — a switch that boosted matchday capacity to around 60,000.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside the Board, management, players, staff and supporters at West Ham United,” Brady said in a statement.

“Together we ‌have achieved remarkable milestones, but the highlight for me will always be lifting the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy - a moment that will stay with me forever,” she added about the 2023 triumph.

Despite overseeing commercial growth, Brady became a divisive figure among West Ham supporters, facing criticism over the move from Upton Park to London Stadium, rising ticket prices, and the club’s failure to build on its Conference League triumph.
