Aaron Ramsey, the former Wales captain and Arsenal star, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35. His illustrious career spanned nearly two decades, with notable stints at Cardiff City, Arsenal, Juventus, and Nice.
Ramsey made his debut for Cardiff in 2006 and went on to join Arsenal, where he won three FA Cups and became a fan favorite. He also represented Wales in three major tournaments, scoring 21 goals in 86 appearances. His final club was Pumas UNAM in Mexico, where he played briefly before terminating his contract last year.

“This has not been an easy decision to make,” Ramsey said in a statement. “After a lot of consideration, I have decided to retire from football.”
Aaron Ramsey won 86 caps for Wales, scoring 21 goals, after making his international debut in 2008. He represented Wales in three major tournaments, including Euro 2016 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“It has been my privilege to wear the Welsh shirt and experience so many incredible moments in it. It would not have been possible without the incredible input of all the managers I have played under and all the staff who have helped me in many ways,” he said.
