Sundowns secured wins in the Betway Premiership, keeping the title race intense. Pirates are looking strong, having won seven of their last nine league games, while Sundowns edged Durban City, maintaining their top spot with 53 points.

Other notable matches include Kaizer Chiefs aiming for a hat-trick of wins against Orbit College, and Sekhukhune United seeking to reclaim the top spot against Siwelele FC. Meanwhile, Magesi FC hosts Marumo Gallants in a relegation six-pointer.

Pirates' High-Flying Form

Pirates crushed Golden Arrows 5-0, building on their 6-0 win over TS Galaxy. Relebohile Mofokeng led the charge with a brace, including a stunning 25-yard shot. Their goal difference could be a deciding factor in the title race.

Pirates' Scoring Spree Continues

Oswin Appollis added a third and fifth goal, both from long range, while Golden Arrows' goalkeeper Edward Maova scored an own goal. This win boosts Pirates' goal difference to +36, two points behind Sundowns (+30) at the top 

Pirates and Sundowns have seven games left, with Pirates able to go top when they visit Richards Bay on Friday night. Sundowns will focus on their CAF Champions League semi-final against Esperance on Sunday before returning to league action against Polokwane City next Wednesday.

Sundowns won 1-0 at Durban City, with Tsiki Ntsabeleng scoring his first goal for the club. Marcelo Allende set him up with a perfect pass, and Ntsabeleng fired past Darren Keet.

Ntsabeleng's goal was his first since August 2024, and just his third career goal. Arthur Sales had a shocking miss, hitting the woodwork from a yard out, while Brayan Leon also hit the post in the second half.

Huge win for bottom side Magesi FC, who beat Marumo Gallants 3-0 to move off the bottom of the table. Tholang Mashigo, Motsie Matima, and Thabang Sibanyoni scored the goals.

Relegation Battle Heats Up

Magesi now have 17 points, just a point from safety, while Gallants and Orbit College are on 18 points. The relegation battle is intense.

Siwelele could have moved into the top eight with a win, but the fact that they have only scored 12 goals in 22 league games this season again came back to bite them.

Stellenbosch's unbeaten run ended with a 2-1 loss at Richards Bay, halting their top-eight push.

Former Stellies player Sanele Barns put Richards Bay ahead, before Genino Palace equalised. Moses Mthembu scored the winner from a penalty.
