Philadelphia Phillies rookie Felix Reyes launched a home run to deep right field in his first MLB at-bat during Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
Reyes, 25, turned on a 2-0 fastball from former Cy Young Award and Triple Crown winner Chris Sale to put his team up 1-0 in the bottom of the second.
The Dominican Republic native was batting a strong .333 with six home runs and 15 RBI over 18 games in Triple-A before his call-up.
He’s been in the Phillies system since 2021, but his breakout in the minors didn’t come until last season, when he hit .331 with 16 home runs, 67 RBI, and 13 stolen bases across 101 games between Double-A (95) and Triple-A (6).
Reyes was called up before Saturday’s game after the Phillies optioned Otto Kemp back to Triple-A.
