Catch up on the latest NBA action: Toronto Raptors grab 5th in the East, Denver Nuggets secure 3rd in the West, and more playoff update.

Oklahoma City Thunder, the defending champs, rested starters and lost 135-103 to Phoenix...

The Denver Nuggets secured the Western Conference's third seed with a 128-118 win over the San Antonio Spurs, fueled by Nikola Jokic's 23 first-half points. This marks their 12th straight victory, wrapping up an impressive regular season.

Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, played at least 15 minutes to remain eligible for end-of-season awards, including MVP. Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors finished fifth in the East, rolling past the Brooklyn Nets.

Nikola Jokic dominated, playing over 18 minutes and helping the Nuggets build a 70-56 halftime lead against the Spurs. Wembanyama's absence didn't help the Spurs, and the Nugests sealed the third seed in the West.

The Nuggets will face Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round, after finishing behind OKC and San Antonio in the West.

The Los Angeles Lakers secured the fourth seed despite beating the Utah Jazz 131-107. They're set to face the Houston Rockets, led by Kevin Durant, in the playoffs. However, LeBron James might be without Luka Doncic, who's struggling with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.

Doncic's injury is a major blow to the Lakers, with an expected recovery time of 3-6 weeks, putting his playoff availability in doubt. LeBron James expressed his disappointment, saying it felt like a “hit to the heart” upon hearing the news. The Lakers will need to adjust their strategy without their star player.

Lakes coach JJ Redick is pumped for the playoffs: “We're going to prepare and we're going to fight and we're going to go try and win the series.” Meanwhile, the Raptors cruised past the Nets 136-101, securing the East's fifth seed.

The Raptors' win came as Orlando and Atlanta both lost, solidifying Toronto's spot.

The Raptors are back. RJ Barrett (26 points), Brandon Ingram (25 points), and Scottie Barnes (triple-double) led the charge in a 136-101 win over the Nets. Barnes said, “That was our aspiration for the year. It's a big relief.”

Toronto returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2022, securing the East's fifth seed.

The Raptors jumped to fifth in the East, leapfrogging Orlando and Atlanta with their win. They're set to face Cleveland in the playoffs, who secured the fourth seed beating Washington 130-117.

Toronto's got their work cut out against the Cavs.

The Miami Heat kicked off their play-in prep with a 143-117 win over Atlanta. Jaime Jaquez Jr. (26 points) and Bam Adebayo (25 points, 10 rebounds) led the charge.

Miami (10th) faces Charlotte (9th) in the play-in, while the Hornets beat the Knicks 110-96.

The Hawks dropped to sixth, narrowly missing the playoffs. Coach Quinn Snyder gave key players like Alexander-Walker, McCollum, and Johnson a rest, and the Raptors pipped them on head-to-head.

Atlanta's season isn't over, but they're done for now.

Coaches played it safe, resting dozens of players despite 10 seedings on the line. Boston sat eight key players, including Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, securing their second seed.

The post-season's looming, and teams are prioritizing player health.

60 Wins for Detroit

Boston rested eight key players, including Tatum and Brown, and still won with Baylor Scheirman's career-high 30 points, beating Orlando 113-108. The Magic secured the eighth seed, setting up a play-in showdown with Philadelphia.

The 76ers beat Milwaukee 126-106, booking their play-in spot.

Portland clinched the West's eighth seed, beating Sacramento 122-110, and will face Phoenix in the play-in. Meanwhile, Detroit wrapped up the East's top seed with a 133-121 win over Indiana.

The Pistons' 60th win marks their best since 2005-06.

OKC, the defending champs and West's top seed, took it easy in their season finale, losing 135-103 to Phoenix. Both teams rested their starters.
