World No. 3 Coco Gauff lost a three-set thriller to Linda Noskova in Madrid. Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas all moved on.

World No. 3 Coco Gauff, who battled a stomach bug this week, lost 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(5) to Linda Noskova.
The Czech claimed a decisive break in the fifth game of the first set, but Gauff hit back with two breaks of her own to take the second.
Gauff went up two breaks in the third set but let the lead slip as Noskova fought back to 4-4.
The American led 3-0 in the tiebreak but again couldn’t hold on.
Zverev Advances
Two-time former Madrid champion Alexander Zverev, ranked third in the world, showed his quality as he beat Terence Atmane 6-3, 7-6 (7/2) to reach the fourth round.
Serving well, Zverev kept the Frenchman at arm’s length in the first set with two breaks.

The second set was tighter with Atmane battling hard, and Zverev missed two match points before closing it out in the tiebreak.
Young Belgian Alexander Blockx, ranked 69th in the world, pulled off a shock with a 7-6 (7/3), 6-3 win over Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime for his first victory against a top-10 player.
“I had so much confidence,” he explained.
“I didn't even think about panicking or losing my serve.”
“I was playing well in the rallies, too, so I knew even if I missed a few serves, I could play the rallies.”

Daniil Medvedev, who has made the quarter-finals in each of the last two years despite not liking clay, beat Nicolai Budkov Kjaer 6-3, 6-2.
Casper Ruud cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to reach the last 16, while Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Daniel Merida 6-4, 6-2.
