After a lengthy review by the referees and the situation room, replay showed the puck barely crossed the line under Edmonton goaltender Tristan Jarry’s skate, giving Poehling his third goal of the series.

Oilers Strike Early Before Ducks Rally in Game 4
The Oilers wasted no time taking control in Game 4, scoring twice in the first six minutes.
Kasperi Kapanen needed just 38 seconds to open the scoring with his fourth goal of the series, assisted by Jake Walman’s fourth and Jason Dickinson’s first.
It was the second-fastest road opening goal in Oilers playoff history, behind Fernando Pisani’s tally 16 seconds into Game 5 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Final.
Five minutes later, the Oilers got the game’s first power play and extended their lead with little trouble.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his second of the playoffs, assisted by Evan Bouchard and Connor McDavid, to make it 2-0.
The goal gave Nugent-Hopkins and McDavid a point each in their 100th career playoff game. The last Oilers player to hit that milestone was Esa Tikkanen in 1992.
Anaheim had a prime chance to cut the lead in half on their first power play late in the first period, but couldn’t convert.
Entering Game 4, the Ducks were a strong 4-for-8 on the power play in the series.
Despite that lone first-period power play, plus outshooting Edmonton 13-9 and outhitting them 17-10, they still trailed by two after one.
That deficit didn’t last long as the Ducks got going in the second.
After a Josh Samanski tripping penalty, Anaheim’s Cutter Gauthier scored his third goal of the playoffs and second on the power play to make it 2-1.
Jackson LaCombe became the fourth defenseman in NHL history to record a point in each of his first four playoff games, and just the third defenseman with six or more assists through his first four games.
Zach Hyman was called for a minor kneeing penalty that gave the Ducks another power play, with Anaheim improving to 5-for-10 in the series after Gauthier’s goal.
Anaheim’s power play continued to lead the playoffs as they moved to 6-for-11.
Mikael Granlund scored his second goal of the series, with Leo Carlsson and John Carlson each recording their third assist, to tie it 2-2 with under two minutes left in the second.
Within the first 1:20 of the third period, Edmonton’s Walman took a minor interference penalty, giving Anaheim’s lethal power play a chance to take the lead.
After the Ducks failed to convert, Edmonton went on a power play right after and made it count.
Evan Bouchard scored his first goal of the playoffs, assisted by McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for his first point of the night, to put Edmonton up 3-2.
McDavid became the third-fastest player in NHL postseason history to reach 50 multi-point games at 100 games played, behind only Wayne Gretzky with 77 games and Mario Lemieux with 99.
Bouchard notched his 27th multi-point playoff game, tying Chris Pronger for 10th-most all-time by a defenseman and sitting one behind Victor Hedman’s 28, the most among active defensemen.
McDavid drove down the ice and gave the Oilers a chance to take the lead with under five minutes left, but Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal made the save of the game twice in his first career overtime playoff game.
