Bournemouth vs Man Utd, Iraola hails 'impressive' Carrick

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola heaps praise on Manchester United's interim boss Michael Carrick ahead of their Premier League clash. Can the Cherries capitalize on United's struggles?

“I like what he's doing. I don't know him personally, but I also like how he speaks...”

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is full of praise for new Manchester United caretaker boss Michael Carrick ahead of Friday's Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium. Iraola believes Carrick is doing a great job leading the Red Devils, saying, “I like what he's doing.”

The Cherries are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 0-0 draw at Turf Moor against Burnley, and Iraola will be hoping his team can take advantage of United's recent struggles. Carrick's side have won just one of their last five games, and Iraola is expecting a tough test against his side.

Bournemouth's recent form has been quite stagnant, with four straight league draws under Iraola. They're desperate to break the streak and jump into eighth, overtaking Everton in the process. A win would be just what they need to fuel their late push for European qualification.

Bournemouth Aiming to Capitalize on United's Winstreak Worry

Bournemouth knows they can't afford to waste more points, especially with Manchester United coming to town. “Man Utd aren't impossible to beat,” says Iraola, urging his team to seize the opportunity and take the three points.

“I wouldn't say impossible (to stop United), but very difficult to think that we can get another clean sheet against United. They are scoring goals for fun lately.

“They continue scoring more or less the same amount of goals (under Michael Carrick), but the improvement has been on the other side.

“They are not conceding goals, but I would say if they are not conceding chances, that is even more difficult.”

Iraola's Admiration for Carrick

Andoni Iraola is a big fan of Michael Carrick, praising the interim Manchester United boss for his impressive start. Carrick has won seven of his first nine Premier League games, leading United to third place and making a strong case for the top job.

“Definitely a top player. And I think we are also seeing as a manager everything that he had as a player, how he understood the game. They always say the best managers are midfielders, and he was one of the best.

“I like what he's doing. I don't know him personally, but I also like how he speaks, how he makes everything about the team, about the players, and I think they are doing fantastically.”
