Germany continued to dominate the match even as Ghana settled in, but Jonathan Tah missed a great chance to score when he blazed his shot over the bar from close range around the half-hour mark. Then, Florian Wirtz's neat finish was ruled out after a VAR review showed Nick Woltemade was offside.
Ghana's stubborn defense was finally breached in stoppage time when Jonas Adjetey was called for handling Angelo Stiller's flick inside the penalty area. Kai Havertz calmly converted the resulting penalty, scoring his first Germany goal since November 2024 and giving Julian Nagelsmann's team a half-time lead.
Julian Nagelsmann side came out firing after halftime, and Nick Woltemade almost made it pay off - his header from Lennart Karl's delivery hit the crossbar.
Germany was struggling to extend their lead, and Ghana capitalized on it - Abdul Fatawu equalized in the 70th minute, steering home from 10 yards.
But Germany wasn't done yet. A few minutes later, they retook the lead thanks to a great team move, finished off by substitute Deniz Undav's winner in the 88th minute.
