Feyenoord's struggles continued as they lost 2-0 to FC Twente, handing PSV a 17-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie table. The result also allowed Ajax to close the gap to Feyenoord, who are now just three points ahead of their rivals.
Feyenoord had a chance to extend their lead over Ajax and NEC, who both dropped points earlier in the weekend. Instead, Robin van Persie's team squandered the opportunity, losing to FC Twente at home. This leaves Feyenoord's title hopes looking shaky, with PSV pulling away at the top.
Feyenoord's poor form continued as they lost 2-0 to FC Twente, handing PSV a 17-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie table with nine games to go. The defeat also allowed Ajax to close the gap to second-placed Feyenoord.
Feyenoord had a chance to extend their lead over rivals Ajax and NEC, who both dropped points earlier in the weekend. Instead, a win would've given Robin van Persie's team a 7-point lead over third-placed Ajax. Now, Ajax is closing in on Feyenoord's second-place position.
FC Twente's Sam Lammers had the first chance, but Feyenoord threatened to take the lead early through Anis Hadj Moussa, whose shot hit the post. The early attack set the tone, but Feyenoord couldn't capitalize on the momentum.
Feyenoord struggled to maintain their intensity and allowed FC Twente to dictate the pace. Daan Rots and Sondre Orjasaeter tested Timon Wellenreuther with shots, but the goalkeeper held firm, keeping the score goalless at the break.
Robin van Persie was forced into two early changes due to injuries. Bart Nieuwkoop replaced Gijs Smal in the 32nd minute, but Nieuwkoop himself was substituted seven minutes later after clashing with Sondre Orjasaeter, with Jordan Lotomba coming on.
Jakub Moder had a great chance to open the scoring for Feyenoord in the 41st minute, but his effort was off target. Instead, it was Kristian Hlynsson who broke the deadlock in the first minute of added time. Timon Wellenreuther misjudged Hlynsson's shot, and the ball bounced off the goalkeeper and into the net, giving FC Twente the lead.

The changes didn't quite work out as planned, and FC Twente scored a second goal in the 71st minute. Sondre Orjasaeter outmaneuvered Mats Deijl and fired the ball into the top corner, scoring his first Eredivisie goal and making it 2-0 for Twente.

Feyenoord's struggles continued as they created just one chance in the second half and ended up losing 2-0 to FC Twente. The Rotterdam giants had hoped to capitalize on Ajax and NEC's earlier slip-ups, but it wasn't their day.
The loss means Feyenoord drop points, allowing Twente to leapfrog AZ and move up to fifth place. Twente are now just two points behind NEC and three points behind Ajax, setting up an exciting finish to the season.
