Mamelodi Sundowns secure vital 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United, with Iqraam Rayners scoring a brace and Marcelo Allende netting a stunner.

Mamelodi Sundowns edged past Sekhukhune United 3-1, with Marcelo Allende and Iqraam Rayners on target. Bradley Grobler had Sekhukhune on the board, but Sundowns deserved the win. Monnapule Saleng also put in a great performance for the champions. 


Match-Winning Strike from Allende 

Sundowns took the lead thanks to a superb strike by Allende on 31 minutes, his second goal in as many games. He was teed up by Arthur Sales on the edge of the box and curled a superb strike into the top corner, leaving Sekhukhune goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata no chance.



Huge Miss for Sundowns

Tashreeq Matthews set up a great chance for Aubrey Modiba, who was left one-on-one with the goalkeeper but blazed his shot over the bar from 15 yards. The chance was a sitter, and Sundowns should've been 2-0 up.



Grobler Levels it for Sekhukhune

Sekhukhune pulled level thanks to a Vuyo Letlapa cross that veteran striker Bradley Grobler headed home. The 38-year-old has eight goals in the Betway Premiership this season, putting him one behind league top scorer Sede Dion.



Saleng Returns to Action

Monnapule Saleng made a welcome return to action for Sundowns, coming on as a second-half substitute after recovering from injury. The winger hadn't played since January, but looked sharp after entering the game.


Rayners' Clinical Finish

Iqraam Rayners scored his first goal since September, capitalizing on a Monnapule Saleng assist on the winger's debut. Rayners scooped the ball into the net from eight yards, showcasing his quality in a great team move.



Rayners' Stunning Strike

Iqraam Rayners scored a stunning second goal, picking up the ball 35 yards from goal and unleashing a superb shot that crashed into the top corner of the net. This impressive strike added to his earlier goal, helping Mamelodi Sundowns secure a 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United.


Rayners' Scoring Run

With Bafana Bafana struggling to find firepower up front, coach Hugo Broos will be hoping Rayners can continue his scoring run to the end of the season. Rayners has now scored eight goals in the league this campaign, putting him just one goal behind top scorer Dion.



Sundowns Level with Pirates at the Top

Mamelodi Sundowns moved level with Orlando Pirates at the top of the Betway Premiership table after a 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United. Both teams have 41 points from 18 matches, but Pirates retain top spot due to a superior goal difference.


Sekhukhune Settle for Third Place

Sekhukhune United remain on 32 points from 19 matches and are now likely playing for third place, having suffered a fifth consecutive loss. The team has slipped to 14th position and is just three points clear of automatic relegation.
