West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen is urging his team to dig deep and stay united in their fight to avoid relegation. The Hammers suffered a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa, leaving them 18th in the Premier League with just 29.

The loss was a blow to West Ham's survival hopes, with Villa's goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins handing them a boost in their Champions League push. Bowen acknowledged the team's struggles, saying “We feel like we are still in a good place, we can't let this put down all the work we have done to get here.”

West Ham's next challenge is an FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United on April 5, followed by a crucial Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 10. Bowen emphasized the need for focus, saying “Regardless of the result today, we have to focus on ourselves.”

Spurs got hammered 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at home, leaving them just a point above the relegation zone in 17th.

“Regardless of the result ‌today, we have to focus on ourselves,” Bowen told Sky Sports.

“We go into ‌the break and then come back for a big end to the season. You lhave to hold your hands up and say they were better than us on the day - that's horrible to admit - but we just weren't at the races for whatever reason.

“We feel like we are still in a good place, we can't let this put down all the work we have done to get here. It has not been a good season at all for us, but we have to keep fighting to stay in the Premier League.”

West Ham's got the FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United on April 5th, then a massive Premier League game against Wolves on April 10th - crucial for their survival fight.

Watkins Back on Track

Ollie Watkins' goal was a big boost for Villa after a tough patch. The striker, dropped from England's squad, responded with his 10th goal of the season, silencing critics

“He is a fighter,Villa manager Unai Emery told the BBC. “He is always doing his tasks, and doing ‌his tasks I am always delighted with him. Then it's numbers. Today he scored, but he must be consistent in his mentality to do his tasks and get his numbers.

“To be in the national team it is something every player wants but he must continue working and give the coach trouble (picking) ‌for the next World Cup.”
