Arne Slot, Liverpool's manager, is optimistic about the support from their fans as they face Galatasaray in the Champions League last-16 second leg. Despite Liverpool's recent struggles, Slot believes the fans will rally behind the team as they try to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

Slot acknowledged the fans' frustration but emphasized that Liverpool's history shows they support their team through thick and thin. He pointed to the team's strong home record this season, including wins against top teams like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, as a reason for optimism.

Liverpool, the Premier League champions, are facing a tough season, and their 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday was a clear indication of their struggles. The match was marred by fan dissatisfaction, with many supporters leaving the stadium early and others booing manager Arne Slot and his players at full time. This disappointing result has raised concerns about Liverpool's title aspirations, with the team trailing 16 points behind the leaders.

Slot has acknowledged the team's struggles, citing the increased competitiveness of the Premier League as a major factor. He emphasized that winning games has become increasingly difficult, regardless of a team's position in the league table. The manager also defended star player Mohamed Salah, saying his goal drought is a temporary slump.

“It's difficult because we have played twice ‌against them and lost twice against them,” Slot told reporters.

“The good thing for us is that it is the first game we play at home (against them) ‌and we have the support of our ⁠fans, who will be supportive again ‌tomorrow night because that is what they have always been and will always be for this club.”

Arne Slot revealed that striker Alexander Isak is out of Wednesday's match against Galatasaray due to fitness concerns. There's still uncertainty over defender Joe Gomez's availability, with Slot saying he'll make a decision on his participation on the day. 

“He (Gomez) ‌wasn't ready to train today. He had too many issues after the last game,” he added.

“Although he already had the issues after the first leg. It wasn't the plan to play him against Tottenham. But unfortunately, Ibou (Konate) felt discomfort in his ⁠hamstring. We couldn't take the ⁠risk of playing him, so ‌we had to play Joe.”
