Ajax Fans Chaos: Highway Invasion Ahead of Klassieker

Ajax fans enter A4 highway on foot, causing traffic chaos ahead of Klassieker derby against Feyenoord. Dutch authorities condemn Ajax fans' 'extremely dangerous' behaviour on A4 highway.
Incident highlights ongoing tensions between Ajax and Feyenoord ahead of Sunday's match...
A crazy scene unfolded on the A4 highway in the Netherlands. A large group of Ajax fans entered the highway on foot, heading towards the team bus which was on its way to Rotterdam for the Klassieker derby against Feyenoord.
The fans, eager to show their support, lit flares and approached the bus near Hoofddorp. Another group even caused some minor damage to the bus by banging on it as it left the Johan Cruyff ArenA.
The Ajax fans caused a major traffic jam on the A4 highway, but luckily the team bus managed to avoid any incidents.
Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch authority responsible for infrastructure, strongly condemned the fans' actions: “Rijkswaterstaat condemns this extremely dangerous behaviour. By doing so, they are not only putting their own safety at risk, but also that of other road users.” Away fans have been banned from the Klassieker between Ajax and Feyenoord since 2009, so this incident is a major bummer.
