AC Milan's title hopes took a hit as they drew 1-1 with Como, missing a chance to revive the Serie A title fight. Rafael Leao's second-half equaliser saved the hosts from a first H2H defeat since 1985.
The midweek match was a game in hand for both sides after being pushed back for the Winter Olympics opening ceremony at the San Siro.
Milan's Serie A title dreams took a hit as they conceded a 32nd-minute lead to Como, courtesy of a defensive blunder by Mike Maignan. The usually reliable goalkeeper's risky pass was intercepted by Nico Paz, who capitalized on the mistake to score a low shot past Maignan.
The goal was a bitter pill for Milan, coming just after Mergim Vojvoda had an effort ruled out for offside. Milan will be kicking themselves over the mistake, especially with the Serie A title within their grasp.
Como's goalkeeper Jean Butez stole the show with a stunning reaction save, denying Fikayo Tomori's instant equaliser. The stop kept Como ahead, and they went into halftime with a narrow lead.
Como's joy was short-lived as Butez's mistake gifted Milan an equaliser in the 64th minute. The goalkeeper came off his line to deal with a long ball, but Leao calmly chipped it over him into the net for his eighth Serie A goal.
The game was on a knife's edge as both teams pushed for a winner. Leao's header hit the underside of the crossbar, and Anastasios Douvikas's volley flew into the side-netting – phew, what a save.
Meanwhile, Massimiliano Allegri was sent off after clashing with Como's coaching staff, watching the final moments from afar.

Massimiliano Allegri must be frowning, his team only managed to cut the gap to Inter to seven points, while Cesc Fabregas's Como team climbed to sixth, just four points shy of fifth-placed Juventus. The draw against Como was a missed opportunity for Milan to close in on Inter.
