Cagliari and Lazio settled for a goalless draw, with both teams sustaining new injuries and Yerry Mina getting sent off for two bookable offences. The match was a tense affair, with neither team able to break the deadlock.

Both teams were coming off setbacks, with Cagliari's three-game winning streak cut short by defeats to Roma and Lecce. Lazio had been pegged back 2-2 by Juventus and then lost to Atalanta, so a point was a fair outcome.

Cagliari had a lengthy list of absentees, including Michael Folorunsho, Alessandro Deiola, Gianluca Gaetano, Gennaro Borrelli, Andrea Belotti, and Mattia Felici. Lazio's Maurizio Sarri was also missing key players like Pedro, Mario Gila, Toma Basic, Manuel Lazzari, and Samuel Gigot, but was boosted by Alessio Romagnoli's return from suspension.

Ze Pedro had a chance to give Cagliari the lead after 13 minutes, but his header clipped the outside of the near post on a corner. It was a frustrating miss for the team.

Mattia Zaccagni nodded a corner over, then was surprised when both Michel Adopo and Alberto Dossena failed to cut out the Adam Marusic cross. Lazio's defense was caught napping, but Cagliari couldn't capitalize.

Adopo had a great chance to score, ghosting between defenders to nod the Adam Obert cross wide from six yards. It was a glaring miss for Cagliari.

Zaccagni also had a chance, coming sliding in but couldn't connect with the Marusic pull-back across the face of goal. Sebastiano Esposito also got in on the action, turning inches off target on the Adopo assist from six yards. Lazio's attack was looking threatening.

Cagliari's injury woes deepened as Luca Mazzitelli left the pitch before half-time with a calf issue. Elia Caprile made a crucial save, smothering Kenneth Taylor's shot. Meanwhile, Lazio faced a setback with Nicolò Rovella falling awkwardly on his right shoulder, adding to the team's concerns.

Marco Palestra was a threat throughout, and he almost scored on 69 minutes when he sent Pellegrini to ground with a dummy and drilled the ball under Ivan Provedel. However, he was offside when running onto the Ze Pedro long ball. Provedel made a crucial save, getting his fingertips to the Riyad Idrissi angled drive. Cagliari's chances were further diminished when they were reduced to 10 men in the final minutes.

Yerry Mina started a foul on Tijjani Noslin on the edge of the area and continued it inside, earning a second yellow card. The referee initially pointed to the spot but then awarded a free kick instead, sending Mina off.

From the resulting free kick, Danilo Cataldi forced a tough save from Caprile at the near post. Cataldi also had a great effort swing off target, his shot from the edge of the box skimming the top corner in stoppage time.
