Seahawks' Kenneth Walker III earns Super Bowl MVP with 135 rushing yards in 29-13 win over Patriots.
“We went through adversity this season, but we stayed together...”
Kenneth Walker III stole the show at Super Bowl LX, earning MVP honors with a dominant 135-yard rushing performance on 27 carries, plus 26 receiving yards, leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots. This marks the first time a running back has received the award in 29 years, with Terrell Davis being the last in 1998.
Walker's 135 rushing yards were his highest since Terrell Davis's 157-yard MVP performance in Super Bowl 32 (Denver vs. Packers, Jan 1998). In a dull first half, Walker sparked Seattle's offense with 29- and 30-yard runs, setting up their second field goal.
Walker was Seattle's offensive hero, accounting for over half the team's yards at halftime with a 9-0 lead. He kept dominating with a 20-yard catch, setting up a field goal, and adding 14- and 10-yard runs to push Seattle's lead to 22-7. The only blemish: a denied TD due to a holding call on center Jalen Sundell on a 49-yard run.
“It's just a dream come true,” Walker said. “Because a lot of people, they'll play their whole career and never make it this far. And they could, so it's a blessing.”
Walker, drafted 41st overall by the Seahawks in 2022, said the victory was especially sweet for a Seattle team that powered through a tough NFC West division behind unheralded quarterback Sam Darnold - who battled an oblique injury in the playoffs.

Walker himself shouldered an extra load with top running back Zach Charbonnet sidelined by a torn knee ligament suffered in a playoff win over San Francisco.
The Super Bowl marked Walker's third straight playoff game with 100-plus scrimmage yards, making him the only player in Seahawks history to accomplish that feat.
“We went through adversity this season, but we stayed together,” Walker said. “We've got a brotherhood going right now and it's special.”
