Victor Wembanyama led the San Antonio Spurs to a dominant 136-108 win over the injury-depleted Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 40 points - his season-high - in just 26 minutes. He also grabbed 12 rebounds, made 13-of-20 field goals, and had two steals and a block. This impressive performance marks Wembanyama's sixth career 40-point game.

The Los Angeles Lakers were missing a bunch of key players, including LeBron James and Luka Doncic, who were sidelined along with Austin Reaves and Marcus Smart. Doncic is dealing with a hamstring strain and missed his third straight game, while James sat out due to foot arthritis.

The Lakers key missing, which made it easier for the Spurs to take control of the game. Wembanyama's stats were historic, making him the third player in NBA history to score at least 40 points and grab 12 rebounds in 26 minutes or less.

Victor Wembanyama took full advantage of the Lakers' depleted lineup, scoring 25 points in just eight minutes of play in the first quarter. He ended up with 40 points, tying his season high, and helped the San Antonio Spurs dominate the Lakers 136-108.

The Spurs' star player dropped 37 points by halftime, leading the team to an 84-55 lead. This is the most points scored by any player in a first half this season.

He cooled off in the third quarter but still matched his opening night score of 40 points. The Spurs decided to rest their starters, including him, in the fourth period, securing a comfortable win.

The game wasn't without its concerns, though. 2025 Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle took a hard fall under the basket in the second quarter, exiting with a pelvic contusion. Hoping he's back on court soon.

Pacers Edge Knicks in Overtime Thriller

The Indiana Pacers, fueled by 30 points from Pascal Siakam, stunned the New York Knicks 137-134 in an NBA overtime thriller at Madison Square Garden. Eight Pacers players scored in double figures, with Andrew Nembhard adding 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Quenton Jackson scoring 19, including two game-sealing free throws with 3.9 seconds left in OT.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 40 points, five rebounds, and eight assists, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Josh Hart contributed a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 points apiece, with Towns forcing overtime with two free throws before fouling out.

The Pacers dominated the start of overtime, scoring the first nine points, but the Knicks fought back with a furious rally. Jalen Brunson hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one, but Quenton Jackson sealed the win for the Pacers with two free throws.

The Pacers have struggled this season, missing their star player Tyrese Haliburton due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. Despite this, they ended a four-game losing streak with a thrilling win over the Knicks, snapping a tough road trip with just their fourth away win of the season.

The Knicks, on the other hand, had been on a roll at home with 21 wins, tied for second-most in the league. This loss is a setback, but they're still a strong contender.

“This was a really important game for us,” said Pacers coach Rick Carlisle. “The season that we've had, this environment, the opponent - our guys had a great collective spirit and collective will tonight.”

The Knicks' loss was a big comedown, slipping them half a game behind the Boston Celtics into third place in the East, six games behind conference leaders Detroit. They had been on a hot streak, winning nine of their past 10 games, with seven of those wins coming by double digits.

Rockets Cruise Past Clippers

Kevin Durant scored 26 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 102-95 win over the LA Clippers. Down by one at halftime, the Rockets took control in the third quarter, pushing a six-point lead to 15 in the fourth to cruise to victory.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points, while John Collins added 17 and Bennedict Mathurin contributed nine off the bench in his debut. Meanwhile, Darius Garland remains out with a toe injury, missing his second game since joining the Clippers in the James Harden trade.
