LeBron James made history on Thursday, becoming the oldest player to record a triple-double at 41 years and 44 days old, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-104 win over the Dallas Mavericks. He scored 28 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and handed out 12 assists, securing the milestone with his final rebound with just over two minutes remaining.
James' impressive performance shattered Karl Malone's 22-year-old record, set at 40 years and 127 days in 2003, also with the Lakers. The 23rd-season superstar expressed his appreciation for the moment, saying, “I'm more appreciative of moments like this in my career, understanding where I'm at. I'm at the later stage of my journey, so definitely taking it in a little bit more.”

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks stunned the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-93.
LeBron James has made history by becoming the oldest player to record a triple-double in the NBA, surpassing Karl Malone's record. Malone was 40 years, 127 days old when he achieved the feat for the Lakers in 2003. James achieved this milestone just days before his 22nd All-Star Game appearance.
Lakers coach JJ Redick attributes James's longevity and success to his unwavering commitment to the sport. Redick says it's James's dedication that continues to impress him most, even after over two decades in the league.
“I don't take for granted how good he is,” Redick said. “I recognize that on a daily basis.
“The more remarkable thing is how much he cares in his 23rd year with all his accomplishments. He's going to get another 'oldest player to do X, Y, or Z.'
“He's going to get another one of that. He is going to further cement his scoring record, he's going to do all those things.
“It's really just the day-to-day professionalism and care factor that he exhibits that is the most remarkable thing.”
The Lakers bounced back from two straight defeats, with LeBron James leading the charge, scoring 14 points in the first quarter alone. They were missing NBA scoring leader Luka Doncic, but James stepped up.
James received a standing ovation when he was subbed out for son Bronny James, seconds after grabbing his 10th rebound. “The win, that's the most important thing,” James said, highlighting the team's victory over the Spurs.
Bucks Upset Thunder
Ousmane Dieng led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 110-93 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, missing stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The morale-boosting victory comes ahead of the NBA All-Star break.
Dieng was on fire, dropping 19 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dishing out 6 assists, and blocking 4 shots in his return to Oklahoma City. He made 7 of 12 shots, including 3 threes, reminding the Thunder of the trade deal.

AJ Green dropped 27 points, while Bobby Portis added 15 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for Milwaukee. The Bucks had seven players score in double figures, securing a solid win.
The Thunder's two-game winning streak ended, following losses to San Antonio and Houston.
Oklahoma City struggled without Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, trailing most of the game. Isaiah Joe scored 17 points, and Chet Holmgren had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Thunder.
Despite the loss, the Thunder still lead the Western Conference with a 42-14 record heading into the All-Star break.
Nikola Topic made his long-awaited NBA debut, scoring 2 points in 12 minutes of action against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 20-year-old Serbian guard, who was the 12th pick in the 2024 NBA draft, received a standing ovation upon entering the game. Topic had been battling testicular cancer, undergoing chemotherapy, and missing the entire 2024-25 season due to a knee injury.
This emotional debut marks a remarkable comeback for Topic, who has overcome incredible adversity to achieve his dream of playing in the NBA.
“Just thrilled for him,” Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said of Topic. “He's obviously been through a ton of adversity in his life in the last couple of years.
“He's a young guy that all he wants to do is play basketball and that's been taken from him a couple of different times. So for him to work himself to this point, get himself on the floor is a great accomplishment.”
