Klint Kubiak signs 5-year deal to lead Raiders, following in footsteps of father Gary Kubiak's Super Bowl-winning coaching legacy.
“He's a grinder. He's always working, always looking for an edge...”
Klint Kubiak has officially become the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, confirming the news after leading the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory. The 38-year-old offensive coordinator announced his departure from Seattle during post-game celebrations, saying “You guys know I'm going to Las Vegas” and expressing his excitement about the new role.
Kubiak, son of former Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having served as an offensive coordinator for several teams, including the Vikings, Saints, and Seahawks. He's expected to lead the Raiders, who hold the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft, in a new era of football.
“We're going to enjoy tonight. You guys know I'm going to Las Vegas, and I'm fired up about it,” Kubiak said on Sunday when spoken to after the Seahawks' 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara. “Hell yeah, I'm going.”
Kubiak's coaching played a big part in getting Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the same page. Seattle's impressive postseason run led to them becoming the first team to win the Super Bowl without giving up a turnover - pretty impressive feat.
“He's a great coach,” Darnold said of Kubiak. “He's a grinder. He's always working, always looking for an edge.”
Klint Kubiak is reportedly considering bringing some of his Seahawks coaching staff to Las Vegas, with offensive line coach John Benton being a potential candidate. Benton seems hesitant to leave Seattle, saying he's “at home” there, but nothing's been confirmed yet.
It'll be interesting to see who Kubiak decides to bring with him to the Raiders.

Kubiak has had a varied and impressive career, with multiple stints at the Vikings and Broncos, as well as time with the San Francisco 49ers. His experience and coaching expertise have clearly paid off, landing him the top job with the Las Vegas Raiders.
This was Kubiak's second year as an offensive coordinator, after having the same role with the New Orleans Saints.

He has signed a five-year deal to become the Raiders' head coach, returning to the AFC West four years on from his time in Denver. His father, Gary Kubiak, led the Broncos to their latest Super Bowl back in 2015.
