Liverpool made it 5-2 at Anfield as they ran out comfortable winners over West Ham, boosting their top-four hopes. The Reds were clinical from the start, needing just five minutes to score their first goal.

Dominating possession and chances, Liverpool's attacking flair paid off early.

Ryan Gravenberch's smart pass set up Hugo Ekitike for a great chance, and the young striker didn't waste it - his calm finish beat Mads Hermansen to notch goal number 11 in the league this season.

Ekitike's goal was a testament to his growing confidence in front of goal, and it's clear he's a player to watch this season.

The Reds proceeded to double their lead shortly after the midway point of the half when they took advantage of some static defending from West Ham.

An excellent corner from Dominik Szoboszlai wasn’t dealt with by the Hammers, allowing Virgil van Dijk to head home from close range and putting Arne Slot’s side in full control of the match.

West Ham responded well to the second goal, pushing for a goal before halftime. Alisson Becker made a crucial save to deny Tomas Soucek, keeping Liverpool ahead. Despite West Ham's improvement, Liverpool showed their clinical edge in front of goal.

Liverpool's attacking prowess was on full display, exploiting West Ham's weaknesses and securing a comfortable 5-2 win.

Hugo Ekitike's brilliant pass set up Alexis Mac Allister for Liverpool's third, and the Argentina star didn't waste the chance - he smashed it past Hermansen. The goal came just before halftime, and it was a fitting end to a dominant first 45 minutes for Liverpool.

West Ham refused to give up, and it paid off four minutes after the restart - Tomas Soucek finished clinically to pull one back for the visitors, courtesy of El Hadji Malick Diouf's perfect pass.

The goal gave West Ham hope, but Liverpool's attacking firepower was still too much.

West Ham's defence was still shaky, and Liverpool should've wrapped it up in the 54th minute - Cody Gakpo had a sitter at the far post but inexplicably missed. He made up for it though, scoring a beauty after Ekitike's pass set him up.

Gakpo cut in from the left and his deflected shot found the bottom corner, making it 4-1 and killing the game.

A lapse in concentration from Liverpool's defence let West Ham grab a lifeline with 15 minutes left - Taty Castellanos headed in at the far post. But any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed as Axel Disasi scored an own goal, putting the game beyond doubt.

The own goal capped off a 5-2 win for Liverpool, keeping them in the hunt for a top-four finish.

The win moves Liverpool closer to Champions League qualification, while West Ham's defeat drops them deeper into trouble, two points adrift of safety.
