Man City emerge as clear favourites for Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have emerged as the clear favourites to land Elliot Anderson in the summer transfer window, according to well-placed sources.

City sources reckon they're in the lead to snatch Gibbs-White and that he's actually their top pick...

Manchester City is gaining ground in the race to sign Elliot Anderson, with reports suggesting they're the frontrunner to secure the Nottingham Forest midfielder's services this summer. Manchester United had initially targeted Anderson as a priority signing, but City's recent moves have put them ahead in the chase.

Anderson's impressive performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, with a price tag of around £100m attached to him. Forest is unlikely to sell him cheap, and City's Pep Guardiola has reportedly kept tabs on Anderson's progress, making him a top target.

It's true Manchester City has a genuine interest in Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, who's valued at £100million. Sources are indicating City's made progress in the talks.

City sources reckon they're in the lead to snatch Gibbs-White and that he's actually their top pick. If things go their way, it could play out like the Antoine Semenyo situation - he was wanted by Manchester United but chose City in the end, feeling it was a better fit for his ambitions.

Manchester United's looking to bring in two central midfielders this summer, with a focus on signing a big-name player from the Premier League to make the transition smoother.

They're following a similar approach to their previous signings, like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, aiming to ease the new players into the team.

Man Utd's Midfield Hunt Continues

Man Utd's targeting new midfielders and they've got other targets lined up for different positions too. They've been eyeing Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, as reported earlier this week.

United's midfield shortlist also includes Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Brighton's Carlos Baleba, giving them options for their summer squad.

Manchester City's got plans to strengthen midfield with a proven player, aiming to fit Anderson into their squad as part of their latest rebuild.

They're working out how to make space for him financially, considering potential departures like Bernardo Silva, John Stones, and Jack Grealish this summer.
