Harry Kane scored a brace as Bayern Munich edged past Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2, extending their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to nine points. The win marked a return to form for Bayern, who had looked dominant in their previous 3-0 win over Werder Bremen.

Bayern started strong, dictating the pace and creating chances, with Kane's first-half goals setting the tone. Frankfurt pushed hard in the final minutes, but Bayern held on for the win, leaving Die Adler with an eighth consecutive away game without a win.

Frankfurt were struggling to get out of their own half, let alone threaten Bayern's goal, but Vincent Kompany's men were quick to strike. A corner was cleared to the edge of the area, and Aleksandar Pavlović was waiting to volley it home, though Kauã Santos should've made a save.

Bayern doubled their lead in just four minutes, again from a corner. Michael Olise's delivery was flicked on by Josip Stanišić to Harry Kane, who nodded home his 27th Bundesliga goal.

Frankfurt looked outclassed, and it was only a matter of time before Bayern punished them again. Jamal Musiala had a great chance to make it 3-0, but his shot flew wide, and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya's effort was easily saved by Urbig.

The second half was a non-stop barrage on Frankfurt's goal, with Olise, Luis Díaz, and Kane all having chances, but Kauã Santos was in good form. Olise's late effort curled wide, and it was clear Frankfurt were in trouble.

Riera's triple change at the hour mark sparked a mini-revival for Frankfurt, with Jonathan Burkardt's chip just hitting the post. But Bayern weren't to be denied, and Kane sealed the win with a stunning left-footed curl into the top corner - his 90th Bundesliga goal.

Frankfurt pushed hard after that, and it paid off in the 87th minute as Omar Marmoush scored a late goal, setting up a tense finish.

Harry Kane's perfect afternoon was spoiled when he gave away a penalty, tripping Oscar Højlund unintentionally. Burkardt converted the spot-kick, giving Frankfurt hope.

Frankfurt pushed hard, and it paid off when Joshua Kimmich's poor pass was pounced on by Arnaud Kalimuendo, who scored into an empty net, making it 3-2.

Mario Götze had Frankfurt's best chance to equalize, but his shot flew over. The loss leaves Riera's team eight points outside the top six.

Bayern, meanwhile, remain top of the Bundesliga, but their second-half sliness wasn't ideal prep for next week's Der Klassiker against Dortmund
