Viking FK has made history by securing their first Norwegian championship in 34 years with a stunning 5-1 win over Valerenga in the final round of the Eliteserien season. This thrilling victory marks the club's first top-tier title since 1991, ending a long wait for the team and their fans.

The match was a testament to Viking's determination, with Edvin Austbø scoring a remarkable solo goal in the 10th minute, followed by Martin Ove Roseth's second goal just five minutes later. Despite Valerenga's Elias Kristoffersen Hagen pulling one back, Viking sealed the win with two more goals, sparking jubilant celebrations among the fans.

Viking's triumph ends Bodo/Glimt's two-year reign as champions, with the team finishing one point ahead of their rivals. The victory also marks a remarkable turnaround for Viking, who were relegated to the second tier just six years ago.

Viking, founded in 1899, has secured its ninth Norwegian championship title. The team, led by players like Peter Christiansen and Anders Baertelsen, played a crucial role in Sunday's victory. Christiansen started the match, while Baertelsen came on in the last 15 minutes.

Vålerenga's Danish players, including Oscar Hedvall, Elias Sørensen, Carl Lange, and Kevin Tshiembe, didn't score in the game, despite their team's efforts.

Viking's first-half goals came from Edvin Austbo, Martin Ove Roseth, and captain Zlatko Tripic. Valerenga's Elias Hagen pulled one back five minutes into the second half, but Viking sealed the win with late goals from Kristoffer Haugen and Kristoffer Askildsen.

The win marked a historic moment for Viking, with five different Norwegian players scoring. Meanwhile, Bodo/Glimt closed out their season with a 5-0 win over Fredrikstad, with Mathias Jorgensen scoring the final goal as a substitute.
