Crystal Palace romped to a 3-0 win over Shelbourne in the UEFA Conference League, putting them within touching distance of the top eight. The visitors settled quickly into the game at Dublin's Tallaght Stadium, but Marc Guehi's early chance was thwarted despite a promising start.
Palace broke the deadlock soon enough, with Eddie Nketiah's clever pass setting up Christantus Uche to score on his first start for the club. Adam Wharton followed up with shots from range, while Shelbourne's Paddy Barrett had a tame attempt fly wide at the other end.
Palace scored their second in the 25th minute with their two strikers involved again, as Uche slid in to reach Yeremy Pino’s through ball ahead of Wessel Speel and Nketiah converted after the ball had hit the post.
Palace remained comfortably on top, and Nketiah was denied by Mark Coyle moments later, before heading into the side netting after Richards had hit the crossbar.
Palace scored again in the 37th minute, thanks to Pino's brilliant solo effort. He glided up the pitch and smashed his shot into the bottom corner. The visitors continued to press, but Shelbourne's Speel made a crucial save to deny Borna Sosa just before halftime.
With the game all but won, Oliver Glasner made three subs, but it didn't change the flow of play. Speel recovered from a mistake to block Nketiah's shot, and Palace continued to push for more. Romain Esse had a shot blocked, while Jefferson Lerma and Richards missed headers.

There was a disappointing end to the evening for Justin Devenny as he went off injured, but that saw 17-year-old Benji Casey come on for his senior debut as Palace comfortably responded to the defeat against Strasbourg in their last UECL match with their third consecutive win in all competitions, which takes them ninth for now.
The result also leaves Shelbourne 34th with one point and no goals to their name.
