Tensions rise between Barcelona and Spanish FA over Lamine Yamal's withdrawal from national team. Spain's World Cup qualifying hopes hit as Lamine Yamal misses matches against Georgia, Turkey.

“The RFEF Medical Services wish to express their surprise and concern after learning at 13:47 on Monday, November 10, the day the official training camp...”

Lamine Yamal has been withdrawn from the Spain squad again, and won't be able to play for the national team due to a medical treatment he received without prior notice. The treatment requires him to rest for 7-10 days, and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has expressed “surprise and discomfort” over the situation.

The RFEF stated that Barcelona didn't inform them about the procedure until late Monday night, despite it happening earlier that morning. This has led to a major dispute between the club and the national team, with tensions already running high between Hansi Flick and Luis de la Fuente.

Lamine Yamal's withdrawal is a blow to Spain's World Cup qualifying campaign, but his health and well-being are the top priority. The 18-year-old Barcelona winger has been dealing with a groin injury, and the RFEF has wished him a speedy recovery.

Barcelona's decision to proceed with a medical procedure on Lamine Yamal without informing the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) medical staff has led to his withdrawal from the national team. The 18-year-old winger had undergone an invasive radiofrequency treatment for a groin injury, which requires 7-10 days of rest.

The RFEF expressed “surprise and dismay” upon learning about the procedure, stating that they were only informed late Monday night, despite Yamal being due to join the national team's training camp earlier that day. This incident has escalated tensions between Barcelona and the RFEF, with Spain's coach Luis de la Fuente describing the situation as “unprecedented.”

Yamal's withdrawal means he'll miss Spain's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey. The RFEF prioritized the player's health and well-being, releasing him from the squad to focus on his recovery.

Statement from the Spanish Football Federation
