“As things stand right now, they are available...”

New Sweden boss Graham Potter has called up injured Liverpool forward Alexander Isak for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. However, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has been left out due to a muscular injury.

Sweden's 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign has been struggling, and Graham Potter's appointment aims to turn things around. The team is currently at the bottom of Group B with one point after four games. Despite the slim chances, Sweden still has a theoretical opportunity to secure a playoff berth if results go their way.

The Swedish squad will gather in Marbella, Spain, before traveling to Switzerland for their match against the group leaders on November 15. They will then face Slovenia three days later. Alexander Isak, who has been out with a groin injury, is expected to play a part in the upcoming matches, while Viktor Gyokeres' absence will be felt.

Sweden sit at the bottom of Group B with just one point from four matches, having lost all but one game. Although direct qualification is out of reach, they still harbor a faint hope of securing a playoff spot if other results swing in their favor.

Liverpool's Alexander Isak, who joined the club from Eintracht Frankfurt in September for a whopping £125 million, has been sidelined with a groin injury. The striker hasn't played since the 5-1 win over his former team, missing the last four games. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur's Lucas Bergvall suffered a concussion but is reportedly available for selection, according to manager Graham Potter.

The Swedish squad will assemble in Marbella, Spain, prior to their upcoming fixtures. They will then depart for Switzerland to face the group leaders on November 15, followed by a match against Slovenia three days later.

Viktor Gyokeres will not be joining the squad due to a muscle issue. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the 27-year-old striker was forced to miss Tuesday's Champions League win over Slavia Prague because of the injury.

Gyokeres' absence is a blow to the team, and manager Graham Potter will likely need to make some adjustments to the lineup. With Gyokeres out, Potter may look to other players to fill the gap. Alexander Isak, who has been linked to Liverpool, is expected to play a part in the upcoming matches.

“As things stand right now, they are available. Lucas has had a concussion, but hopefully he can be there when it's time for us to play,” Potter said.

“Alex can hopefully play a bit this weekend and will be in Spain on Monday.”
