Dembele cleared to play as PSG hosts Bayern Munich in Champions League

PSG coach Luis Enrique confirms Ousmane Dembele is fit and available for Tuesday's Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

“I think there will be similar situations to what we saw in the United States last summer, with lots of intensity...”

Ousmane Dembele is fit and ready to play for Paris Saint-Germain as they gear up to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League. PSG coach Luis Enrique confirmed that Dembele will be available for selection for Tuesday's match.

Dembele had been a doubt after feeling discomfort in his right thigh during Lorient last week and was limited to just 18 minutes of playtime in Saturday's Ligue 1 match against Nice. However, Luis Enrique assured that Dembele has been training fully and is ready to compete.

Dembele scored a crucial stoppage-time goal in PSG's 2-0 win over Bayern in the Club World Cup quarter-finals in July. Bayern, meanwhile, have won 15 consecutive matches since losing to PSG, including all nine of their Bundesliga games.

“We do not take risks with any players. But Ousmane Dembele is fit, he has been in every training session for the last two weeks,” Luis Enrique told reporters on Monday.

“He is improving his physical fitness and he will certainly play tomorrow. I do not know for how many minutes, but he will play because he is ready to compete.”

Bayern Munich's impressive run continues, with the team having won every single match since their loss to European champions PSG. Their current streak stands at 15 consecutive competitive wins, including a flawless Bundesliga campaign where they've secured all nine wins.

Both Bayern and PSG are off to a perfect start in the Champions League, having won all three of their matches so far. The two teams are currently tied on goal difference, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown between the two European giants.

PSG's unbeaten streak extends to eight matches, and manager Luis Enrique exudes confidence about extending this record at home against Bayern Munich. With a strong squad and a favorable head-to-head record lacking, PSG will be looking to exploit their home advantage and cause an upset against the in-form Bavarians.

“We know how difficult it will be. We are ready and motivated to win," Luis Enrique said.

“I think there will be similar situations to what we saw in the United States last summer, with lots of intensity... in front of our supporters, with the atmosphere we created every game, we're confident that we can improve our performance level to try to overcome their pressure.”
