Dinamo Zagreb dominated possession in the second half, with most of the action taking place in Malmo’s half...
Malmo FF's chance at a crucial win slipped away as Dinamo Zagreb equalized in the dying moments, resulting in a 1-1 draw at Eleda Stadion.
Gabriel Busanello's weak effort in the opening minutes was Malmö's best chance, but it ultimately didn't lead to a breakthrough in their dismal UEFA Europa League record.
Sarpsborg's best chance fell to Dion Beljo, who headed an excellent cross from Arbër Hoxha goalwards in the 17th minute, but Melker Ellborg made a crucial save.
As the half progressed, Sarpsborg began to find their footing but struggled to trouble Dinamo's Ivan Nevistić, who didn't face a serious test.
That lack of cutting edge looked to have cost them late in the half, when a Miha Zajc corner was headed powerfully by Sergi DomÃnguez, but a fingertip save from Ellborg diverted it onto the bar to preserve parity.
Yet, it was the visitors left ruing missed chances, as with the final action of the half, Malmö grabbed an unlikely lead when Oscar Lewicki met Otto Rosengren’s corner, and his deflected header was just beyond the reach of Nevistić.
After the smash-and-grab ending to the first half, the home side almost doubled their advantage in the second minute after the restart, when Hugo Bolin worked his way into the penalty area and forced a smart reaction stop from Nevistic.

The Croatian side looked to quickly reassert themselves, but no sooner had Beljo’s header flown over the bar, Malmo were down the other end, setting up Kenan Busuladžić for a glorious chance that drifted wide.
Dinamo Zagreb dominated possession in the second half, with most of the action taking place in Malmö's half, but the home side's defense held firm.
Despite late opportunities, including a Josip Mišić shot that sailed into Row Z and a counter-attack that ended with Mounsef Bakrar's effort straight at Melker Ellborg, Dinamo couldn't find a breakthrough.
Dinamo Zagreb finally equalized in added time when Mounsef Bakrar's clever chip over the goalkeeper found its way past Melker Ellborg, despite Gabriel Busanello's best efforts to block it.
The late equalizer leaves Malmö struggling, with only one home win in six UEFA Europa League matches, while Dinamo preserves their impressive away record, having lost just one match in all competitions this season.
