Inter Milan maintains perfect Champions League record with a 3-0 win over Slavia Prague, thanks to Lautaro Martinez's double and Denzel Dumfries' goal.

Slavia Prague's attacking threat was scarce throughout the evening, and it wasn't until the 80th minute...

Inter Milan secured their second consecutive win in the UEFA Champions League, defeating Slavia Prague 3-0 at the San Siro. This victory extended Slavia's winless away run against Italian opposition in major European competitions to nine matches. Despite the scoreline, Slavia Prague put up a spirited resistance, refusing to back down against their illustrious hosts.

The game was characterized by one-way traffic towards the Slavia goal from the outset. Inter Milan dominated possession, piling on the pressure with sustained attacks. However, they struggled to translate their territorial advantage into clear scoring opportunities against the Czech side's defense.

The deadlock was eventually broken in the 30th minute when Slavia goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek's weak pass was pounced upon by Lautaro Martinez, who rolled the ball into an empty net. Four minutes later, Inter doubled their lead through Denzel Dumfries, who scored with a precise finish after a brilliant buildup from Marcus Thuram. Lautaro sealed the win with his second goal in the 65th minute, tapping home a perfectly weighted pass from Alessandro Bastoni.

Inter Milan struggled to create chances in the early stages, finally managing a half chance midway through the first half. Lautaro Martínez had a promising opportunity but headed the ball narrowly over from just six yards out, showcasing his wastefulness in front of goal.

The Argentine striker's luck changed when he was handed an easy goal. Visiting goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek underhit a pass to David Zima inside his own box, and Martínez quickly pounced, scoring what could be one of the easiest goals of his career.

Once Slavia Prague's resistance was broken, Inter Milan accelerated their attack. They quickly doubled their lead as Marcus Thuram cleverly maneuvered to the byline and delivered a precise cross to Denzel Dumfries, who tapped the ball into an empty net from close range.

Inter's attack didn't let up after halftime, maintaining intense pressure on Slavia's defense. However, Stepan Chaloupek's heroic defending kept the Czech side's hopes alive. Chaloupek made a crucial last-ditch slide tackle to clear Petar Sucic's effort off the line after Sucic had rounded goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek.

Inter's relentless pressure eventually paid off midway through the second half. As Slavia pushed forward to find a way back into the game, they were caught on the counter. A fluid move involving Marcus Thuram and Alessandro Bastoni ended with Bastoni rolling the ball across the six-yard line for Lautaro Martínez to tap home.

After the third goal, Inter boss Cristian Chivu made a series of substitutions, possibly with an eye on the upcoming weekend game against Cremonese. The changes did slightly stifle Inter's momentum, but the outcome of the match was never in doubt.

Slavia Prague's attacking threat was scarce throughout the evening, and it wasn't until the 80th minute that they managed to test Yann Sommer in the Inter goal. Muhammed Cham's long-range strike was comfortably saved by the Inter goalkeeper, highlighting Slavia's struggles in creating meaningful chances.

Despite the defeat, Inter's overall performance was impressive, having won their opening two UCL league phase games. Given that every team who started last season's league phase with two successive victories reached the knockouts, Inter's prospects look promising. Meanwhile, Slavia's focus will soon shift to their upcoming weekend clash with city rivals Sparta Prague.
