The victory, sealed by Chemsdine Talbi's stoppage-time goal, propelled Sunderland to second place in the table. However, Le Bris is prioritizing the team's goal of reaching 40 points, a target that remains their primary focus. Le Bris praised his young squad for adapting well to the Premier League, showcasing their ability to stick to his plans and demonstrate determination on the pitch.
“Our target remains exactly the same – we want to reach as soon as possible the target of 40 points,” the Frenchman said. “It's important to start well because it creates belief and confidence.”

Sunderland's impressive start to the season has seen them rack up 17 points from their opening nine Premier League games, a feat last achieved by a promoted club in the 2008-09 campaign by Hull City, according to Opta.
Le Bris credited his young squad for sticking to his game plan and adapting well to the Premier League. He praised their determination and discipline on the pitch, which has contributed to their strong start.
Chelsea took an early lead through Alejandro Garnacho's fourth-minute goal, but Sunderland equalized just before halftime when Wilson Isidor scored. The Black Cats secured a thrilling win when Chemsdine Talbi netted the winner in the third minute of stoppage time, scoring his first goal for the club since joining from Club Brugge in July.
“We still have a very young squad with a limited shared experience so we have to learn from different situations,” Le Bris said. “This one was positive in the end but we were just on the edge in the first minutes.”

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was direct in his assessment, stating that his team barely threatened to score a second goal after taking the lead early on.
“I think in general we were not good enough,” the Italian said. “When you are not good enough in the Premier League we know that the consequences can be bad ones.”
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca acknowledged that his team paid the price for allowing Sunderland's attack to thrive. He pointed out that Brian Brobbey held the ball up well before rolling a pass to Chemsdine Talbi, who scored with a low curling shot. “In that case, for sure, we have to do better,” Maresca said.
