Atalanta's unbeaten run stretched to seven games as they drew 1-1 with Cremonese. Jamie Vardy scored his first goal for Cremonese, but Atalanta salvaged a point.

Atalanta may have been the only unbeaten team in Serie A, but their record of five draws in seven matches beforehand wasn't impressive. In contrast, newly-promoted Cremonese had a strong start, comfortably above the relegation zone.

The first 45 minutes saw both teams struggle to create clear chances, but Cremonese looked more threatening early on, with Jari Vandeputte and Tommaso Barbieri testing Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.

Atalanta began to gain momentum towards the end of the half, with Nikola Krstović's low shot being pushed away by Marco Silvestri in the 35th minute, their first shot on target. Charles De Ketelaere also had a save to make from Marco Silvestri just before halftime, leaving Atalanta on top at the break.

After the break, Atalanta took the game to Cremonese, with Ademola Lookman repeatedly trying to cut inside and shoot with his right foot. Despite his efforts, it took some crucial blocks to prevent him from testing Silvestri.

Lazar Samardzic was Atalanta's most effective player, forcing two saves from Silvestri as they increased the pressure on Cremonese's goal.

Cremonese had a goal ruled out early on when Jamie Vardy was deemed offside. However, Vardy would eventually score, giving his side the lead with about 15 minutes left.

Vardy capitalized on a rebound after Alessio Zerbin's shot was blocked by Marco Carnesecchi, and he scored the decisive goal, putting Cremonese ahead.

Atalanta quickly responded to going behind, equalizing when Marco Brescianini's shot ricocheted off the post and in after Marco Silvestri had saved Gianluca Scamacca's effort.

The draw means Atalanta remain seventh, just a point above Cremonese. Ivan Juric will be frustrated by another draw, while Cremonese will be pleased with their top 10 position and will look to build on this result.

Still, Atalanta did not need long to pull themselves back to level terms, as Marco Brescianini fired in off the post after Silvestri had thwarted Gianluca Scamacca.

Atalanta looked the likelier to net a late winner, but in the end both teams had to settle for a share of the spoils.
