Tudor believed his team's performance was worthy of at least a point, especially considering the chances they created. Jude Bellingham's decisive goal in the second half sealed the win for Real Madrid, who maintained their perfect record in the competition. Meanwhile, Juventus remains without a win in their last seven matches across all competitions, now with only two points from three matches.
“I was disappointed we didn't get a point because we deserved at least one goal,” said Juventus manager Igor Tudor, reflecting on his team's performance. “The lads are disappointed. We had a good approach and the desire to go for it. Then, it was right to suffer. It's a shame we didn't put the ball in the net.”
Juventus' last victory came on September 13, but they showed flashes of promise against Real Madrid. Thibaut Courtois was instrumental in denying the Italian side's efforts, making three crucial saves. However, the team's efforts were undone by Jude Bellingham's strike in the 57th minute, which proved to be the decisive goal.
The winning goal was sparked by Vinicius Jr.'s impressive individual effort, as he took on three Juventus players and created space to shoot. His attempt rebounded off the post, and Jude Bellingham was on hand to slot home the rebound, scoring his first goal of the season since returning from shoulder surgery.
“It was down to individual skill, because he managed to shoot between three players, and also a bit of luck,” Juventus coach Igor Tudor said, acknowledging the blend of brilliance and fortune that led to the goal. “If no one made any mistakes, if things like that never happened, all matches would end without any goals.” Despite the defeat, Tudor remained optimistic about his team's trajectory, urging patience and belief in their development.
“We have strengths and weaknesses, and we need to have faith because we're on the right track,” he said.
“We were definitely missing a bit of everything. The desire was there, but when you run a lot, you also lack a bit of clarity and the habit of playing at certain levels.”
