The European Club Association has undergone a rebranding, now known as European Football Clubs (EFC). This change aims to more clearly embody and communicate the organization's representation and mission. Chaired by Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the EFC represents over 800 clubs across 55 countries, recognized by UEFA and FIFA.

The EFC's new name reflects its mission to serve as a unified voice for European football clubs, prioritizing their growth and development while ensuring their central role in decision-making processes. This rebranding comes as the organization has more than tripled its membership in the last two years and played a significant role in shaping European and international competitions.

“EFC launches... as one unified voice of clubs, with the new name more clearly embodying and communicating who the organisation represents and what it stands for,” the EFC said in a statement released at its general assembly in Rome.

“EFC brings together men's and women's clubs of all sizes from across the continent - with the mission of helping every member club grow and develop, while ensuring that, collectively, clubs are central to decision-making on the regional and global football stages.”

The European Football Clubs (EFC) announced that it has more than tripled its membership in the last two years. According to the organization, it has played a significant role in shaping European football by enhancing competition formats. This move has led to an increase in the number of clubs participating in European and international competitions. The EFC, which represents over 800 clubs from 55 countries, is recognized by UEFA and FIFA. Chaired by Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the organization aims to give clubs a stronger voice in decision-making processes.

The European football calendar is getting increasingly packed, and players are speaking out against the growing number of fixtures. Despite this criticism, the European Football Clubs (EFC) organization backed FIFA's revamped Club World Cup, which saw Chelsea claim the title with a 3-0 win over PSG in the final held in New Jersey this past July.

In related news, UEFA has given the green light for two European league matches to be played abroad. A La Liga match between Barcelona and Villarreal will take place in Miami, Florida, in late December, while Serie A will stage a match between AC Milan and Como in Perth, Australia, on February 8. This decision comes despite widespread opposition from fans, leagues, clubs, players, and European institutions.
